You may think that what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas. Generally, your money is usually the only thing that’s left behind.

Below are some Vegas hotel deals so even if you lose the shirt off your back, you have an inexpensive place to stay the night.

Whiskey Pete's Hotel & Casino: This place has been a favorite with travelers as rooms start at $21 a night. We easily found a standard room for $33 in July 2007. Looking like an 1800s mining town, two castle towers include 777 rooms and suites. There’s headliner entertainment in the showroom and multiple restaurants, including the Silver Spur Steakhouse. Gaming include slots and table games. Whiskey Pete’s has a two person oval tub with spa jets in one of its 600 square foot mini suites, or a four person spa in an oversized bathroom in one of their 725 square foot Jacuzzi® suites.

Buffalo Bill's Resort and Casino: Rooms start at $23 a night at this western-themed resort and casino that sits on 55 acres. The 1,242-room property opened in 1994 and includes one of the tallest and fastest roller coasters in the world, the Turbo Drop, the Vault 3-D simulation and the Adventure Canyon Log Flume Ride. Their pool is shaped like a buffalo.

Arizona Charlie's Boulder: The gaming, entertainment and dining venue offers rooms from $37 a night. In our search, we found “Hot Date” rates in May and June from $32 per night.

    Airline Solves Toilet Dispute

American Airlines opens its first class toilets for passengers in all areas of the plane to use.

The airline said it is flushing rules started in 2003 that made the first class lavatories off limits to coach passengers on all flights. "It was difficult to explain to customers sitting in the forward section of coach why they couldn't walk a few feet and use the lavatory," airline spokesman Tim Wagner said.

American's policy applies to all domestic flights and to international flights leaving the U.S. under Transportation Security Administration regulations. The change does not apply to incoming international flights. Mathematically, the change makes sense since a Boeing 757 plane has two lavatories for 22 first class passengers, and two toilets for 160 passengers in coach.

    National Airline Quality Ratings

Hawaiian Airlines takes the top spot in the 17th annual national Airline Quality Ratings study, conducted by researchers from the University of Nebraska at Omaha and Wichita State University.

The AQR is a month-by-month summary of quality ratings for the largest domestic U.S. airlines operating during 2006. Researchers used 15 elements important to consumers when judging the quality of airline service.

Hawaiian Airlines led the 2006 ratings in best on-time performance. The company’s planes were on-time 93.8 percent of the time. The airline also had the best baggage handling rate (3.14 mishandled bags per 1,000 passengers) in the rankings. Eighteen airlines were studied in 2006.

The AQR researchers note that overall industry performance in three of the four AQR criteria was worse in 2006, compared to 2005. In particular, the mishandled baggage rate was the most consistent area of performance decline for most airlines rated in 2006. The mishandled baggage rate for the industry increased from 6.06 per 1,000 passengers in 2005 to 6.50 in 2006.

The AQR scores for the 18 largest airlines for 2006 resulted in the following ranking:
    1. Hawaiian
    2. Jet Blue
    3. Air Tran
    4. Frontier
    5. Northwest
    6. Southwest
    7. Continental
    8. United
    9. Alaska
    10. American
    11. ATA
    12. Delta
    13. US Air
    14. SkyWest
    15. Mesa
    16. COMAIR
    17. American Eagle
    18. Atlantic Southeast
Other major industry findings in this year’s research study include:
    • Atlantic Southeast Airlines had the worst on-time performance (66 percent) for 2006, the highest involuntary denied boardings rate at 4.47 per 10,000 passengers and the worst baggage handling rate (17.37 mishandled bags per 1,000 passengers) of all airlines
    • Jet Blue had the lowest involuntary denied boardings rate at 0.07 per 10,000 passengers.
    • Five airlines improved their denied boardings rate in 2006. ATA recorded the largest improvement. Jet Blue and Air Tran are clearly the industry leaders in avoiding denied boarding incidents. Industry performance was worse in 2006 (1.01 per 10,000 passengers) than it was in 2005 (0.89).
    • Southwest Airlines, again, had the lowest consumer complaint rate (0.18 per 100,000 passengers) of all airlines.
    • United and US Airways both had the highest consumer complaint rates (1.36 per 100,000 passengers for both) of all airlines.

    Healthful Travel Snacks

If you are flying and ate before you left home, chances are you are going to get hungry because we often underestimate the amount of time a trip can take. A two-hour flight can mean four or five hours of travel.

So, to keep you eating healthy while on the road, here are some ideas for healthful snacks you can bring along. Most of the snacks can be packed in plastic or zip-lock bags that don’t take up much space.

Suggestions come from Charles Stuart Platkin, J.D., M.P.H., a public health advocate who writes the syndicated nutrition and fitness column, "The Diet Detective."

Water: Now you must buy it after the security checkpoint to take onboard. Dehydration can cause or exacerbate hunger, jet lag and fatigue.

Cereal: Kashi (a variety of healthful versions) or Cheerios are both portable, low-calorie choices.

Beef jerky: Especially good if you're a low-carb fan -- but not if you're watching your sodium.

Fruit: Apples, pears and grapes are durable, and almost any fruit can be stored in a container.

Rice cakes: Be selective, since calorie and fat content vary widely.

Energy bars: Although they tend to be high in calories and fat, they often are better than a slice of pizza or a candy bar at the airport.

Nonfat yogurt: Yogurt is a great portable snack, although it is perishable. A three ounce container can easily fit into an insulated bag or small cooler. The small cooler may be counted toward your carry-on bag limit. Don’t forget to pack a plastic spoon.

Sandwiches: Pre-cut them into portion-controlled sections so you can pull them out at different times during the trip without making a mess. Chicken, turkey, cold cuts and cheese (on 100 percent whole-wheat bread) are all great options for sandwiches on the go, although they are perishable. Peanut butter can last much longer, doesn’t need refrigeration and is usually a kid favorite.

Soy chips: These are another portable, low-cal, high-fiber snack.
